As in previous years we have selected 8 teams at random who submitted to Challenge 1A to win a cheque for £25. We will be in touch by email to the address you gave us when registering, so do please check it and get back to us promptly so we can process your award.
To everyone else, there is always next week.

This week we also ran a movie competition, to make a short youtube video designed to attract new people to the challenge. We had just two entries, and they were sufficiently idiosyncratic that we couldn't decide on a winner so have instead split the prize and award £50 to each of the two schools. You can see their cinematographic masterpieces here:

We invite both groups to contact us in order to claim their prizes!

We would like to put a movie on the resource page which shows a school maths (or cipher) club working on the challenge so that teachers can see what is involved. Maybe with some comments from a teacher or from members of a team about what they get out of doing the competition. No prizes for this, but if anyone wants to put something together for us to use we could let your local press know about it as well so your school maths department would get some good publicity.

Good luck with Challenge 2, hope you like it,

Harry
